Building Excellence Award for D&D Construction

Congratulations to Clayton & Brewill client D&D Construction, recent winners at the LABC Building Excellence Awards.

D&D Construction of Eastwell, near Melton Mowbray were regional winners at the East Midlands LABC Excellence Awards on 10 June 2016, where finalists from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire were among more than 350 guests who attended the awards ceremony at Athena in Leicester.

The awards finalists were judged on the “excellence” shown from a construction and technical building control point of view, with the judges seeking to “celebrate the design and construction teams that, having tussled with technical issues and difficult sites, found innovative and creative solutions.”

Eastwell Village Hall received a high commendation in the Best Public Service Building category and also won the Chairman’s Award.

Each year the chair of the region looks at all the finalists and picks one that is worthy of further recognition.

The judges commented that Eastwell Village Hall stood out “because it demonstrates that it not only embraces excellent performance and environmental credentials, but is also able to adapt for multi-purpose use which will make a massive difference to the small village community that will benefit from its facilities and assist in sustaining the wonderful community spirit that is evident.”
