Clayton & Brewill's Doug Perry has won the Highly Commended award in the highly competitive Leading Adviser to Family Businesses category in the 2013 Midlands Family Business Awards. The awards, which took place on 14 November, are now in their fourth year and are organised by third generation family business The Wilson Organisation. The Leading Adviser category was judged by Simon Beckett of Becketts Farm – winners of the 2012 Midlands Family Business of the Year Award; Kurt Jacobs, editor of Insider magazine, and Jamie Gayton of category sponsors Unum.
The Midlands Family Business Awards is the region's only not-for-profit, independent initiative for family businesses and their advisers. All funds raised in 2013 will go to The Outward Bound Trust, the educational charity for young people. Since their launch, the Awards have raised almost £20,000 for Midlands-based charities.
